We are deeply saddened by the passing of Mike Lee, May 2, 2011. Patianna’s winemaker for the past 6 vintages, Mike was a dear friend for more than 30 years and a much-loved member of the Patianna family.
In 1970 Mike joined his father, brother Marty and brother-in-law John Sheela to found Kenwood Vineyards in Sonoma Valley; and in 1996 he began purchasing Patianna Organic Vineyards’ grapes for his famed Sauvignon Blanc program. After Mike and his family sold Kenwood Vineyards, Mike stayed on as winemaker until 2003. He came out of retirement in 2005 to join our team.
Here’s to Mike, a genuine gentleman, a talented winemaker, an extraordinary man. He will be missed but never forgotten.
